How do I know if a program is right for my fitness level?Whether you’re a beginner taking your first steps or an experienced lifter looking to break through plateaus, STRIVE adapts to you. Our programs are scalable, so you’ll be challenged appropriately no matter where you’re starting from. Make sure you look at what range of fitness levels a given program caters to. This will be visible on the front page of every program.

Do I need access to a gym, or can I do the programs at home?While STRIVE Training Systems are optimised for full gym equipment access, every program has at-home options using a bench, dumbbells, resistance bands and suspension trainers.

How much time will I need to commit each week?This is a great question! Our programs designed for efficiency. Some programs will require as little as 20 minutes per day with 4-6 sessions a week. For other programs, you'll spend no more than an hour each day in the gym.

What kind of results can I expect, and how quickly will I see them?Results vary depending on your starting point and consistency, but you can expect noticeable changes in strength, health, and body composition within 4-8 weeks. I’ve tried other programs and lost motivation. How is STRIVE different in keeping me on track?STRIVE isn’t about overwhelming you with unrealistic demands. Do the programs include diet plans? Will this program require me to follow a strict diet or make drastic lifestyle changes?No, we do NOT do diet plans. From my experience, a strict meal plan almost never works long-term and sets you up to fail. Diet is even more individual than exercise, and every body is different. The programs focus on sustainable, healthy habits that you can build gradually. If you're wanting tailored advice on changing your diet to see the best results possible, I highly recommend adding the coaching offer to the program you buy. This allows me to work with you 1-1 to help you build sustainable nutrition habits that won't leave you starved of the foods you love.

Can I still enjoy my social life while following STRIVE’s approach?Yes! STRIVE is all about balance. You’ll be able to enjoy social events and flexibility while still making progress in your fitness journey. That being said, I don't need to tell you that weekend benders, excessive alcohol and poor sleep won't help you move towards your goals. It's about knowing when and why you step away to enjoy these parts of life, which can become a healthy part of a routine for some people.

What happens if I hit a plateau? How does STRIVE help me break through?Plateaus are a natural part of progress. When your body adapts to a given stimulus or signal, it will stop changing even if you keep pushing things harder. Effective program like ours leverage FITT (Frequency, Intensity, Time, Type), periodisation and the SAID principle to combat this. Every 4-6 weeks, your workouts will change substantially to target a new signal. This keep the body adapting, and helps to prevent plateaus all together.

How do I measure my progress beyond just weight loss or muscle gain?STRIVE emphasizes multiple metrics of success, including strength, endurance, mobility, and overall well-being. You’ll track your progress holistically, so you can see improvements in every aspect of your fitness. We also encourage you to look beyond the scales or the weights you use. For example, many people find great benefit of tracking how their clothing fits change over time. There's no better feeling than having amazing energy, glowing skin and strength whilst your clothes feel better than ever before!

What happens if I need to pause or take a break? Can I pick up where I left off?Life happens, and we get that. You can pause your program and pick up where you left off, even when life needs you to be present elsewhere. Consistency is the most important part of any program, and building healthy habits through our programs will help you bounce right back from time off.

Can I combine this program with other fitness routines or sports I already do?Great question. This greatly depends on your individual needs, but most STRIVE programs can be run concurrently with other types of exercise without much detriment to your results. Exercise needs to be specific if you have specific goals. If you want to just improve your general health, strength and mobility, then doing a wide variety of exercise is almost always a great idea. We encourage you to be active in all areas of life, such as sports, hobbies and physical recreation. Some programs make for an excellent "exercise base", meaning you can add cardio, sports or other activities to your life and still see great results. Other programs will require a more intense focus on recovery and specificity, which means extra activity needs to be added with caution. For each program, the specifics will be made clear before you purchase. Program such as STRIVE20 make an amazing base for the majority of people, whereas STRIVE Strength+ would become ineffective if the user adds more activity to the program.

How do I know the methods used in this program are backed by science?Every program is written by Alex Ewen, an NZIHF certified personal trainer. We will never give you gimmicks, fads or dangerous methods of exercise. The fitness space is complex, and often the "best methods" are debated across social media and other platforms. The bottom line is that science backed, evidence based approaches consider the whole picture, which includes both real world experience and scientific literature. Our programs take this approach, which means you can have confidence that you're training with safe, effective methods.
